River Hospital is seeking a Peri-Operative Registered Nurse with strong Clinical and Leadership Skills to join our Ambulatory Surgical Unit Team as the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services

Our Surgical Services Nurse Manager's schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 hour days during normal business hours and report to our Chief Nursing Officer. 

Job Purpose
A clinically competent registered, licensed nurse who provides immediate, specialized patient care with a multidisciplinary Provider team. Must possess the basic and advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing the nursing care delivered, and the organizational day to day structure, scheduling, and materials acquisition of the Ambulatory Surgery Unit.


Qualifications
  • Valid and current registration, NYS RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (current or ability to obtain certification that are available onsite within 60 days of hire) 
  • Minimum of five years of nursing experience in peri-operative field required. 
  • Previous nurse leadership/management experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms: Word, Excel, Power Point.

It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.

Working conditions and Physical requirements

  • Monday to Friday in coordination with the operations of the clinics.
  • OSHA Category A – potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances.  
  • Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
