Job Purpose
Contact clients that are enrolled or referred for services and assist them in engaging in treatment. Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with patients, family members,
significant others and other members of the health care team. Performs administrative duties in support of River Post Traumatic Stress Services
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
Specialized Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and computer skills.
- Have experience with navigating the mental health system through personal experience or by assisting a family member.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses preferred.
Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of record keeping and report writing techniques.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms: Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Complies with all OMH and Justice Center requirements
- Mental Health First Aid Training
Working Conditions
- Environmentally controlled medical office environment.
- Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
- Work hours subject to office needs to ensure coverage during all hours of operation.
- May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask.
- Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying and speaking.
- Occasional reaching, bending and stooping.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.
- May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone.
