River Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with strong Clinical skills to join our Cardiopulmonary Team.
This position will come with a competitive salary, sign-on bonus, and full benefit package.
Plans, organizes, and directs Respiratory Care and ECG departments. Acts independently to organize and delegate daily activities of staff. Develops policies and procedures for both departments. Troubleshoots and corrects problems associated with patient care or equipment. Supports excellence in patient care. Uses basic/advanced assessment skills/ patient information to maintain awareness and coordinate respiratory therapy care needs with the Medical Nursing staffs. Uses understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patients age specific needs, provide age specific treatment and care, and to effectively interact with al age groups to whom services are provided from infancy to geriatric populations. Perform basic/advanced therapeutic and diagnostic procedure for RT ECG departments. Transcribes/implements physician orders.
Qualifications
- NYS Licensed Respiratory Therapist
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Minimum of 3 years experience in respiratory care, including critical care aspects.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certified (or willingness to become certified onsite within 60 days of hire)
- Cardiac knowledge preferred, but optional
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

Working conditions and Physical requirements
- Monday to Friday in coordination with the operations of the clinics.
- OSHA Category A – potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances.
- Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
